OS and Community Projects

People talk about education and employment as if they are the only two things you should be paying attention to at the start of your career, but the truth is that there’s too much other cool stuff going on that can’t be ignored!

Festivals, community initiatives, charity campaigns – they may not mean big money but you learn valuable skills and make useful contacts, and employers are increasingly looking to these additional activities on a CV to set candidates apart. Just as young people can often struggle to find work to get involved in, these community and third-sector groups can also find it difficult to interest volunteers -so we’d like this site to be a place where the two can come together.

If you have a community project in need of some bright young sparks, or if you are a young person looking to start a project in your area, email info@open-society.co.uk

Past Community Projects

“One Seldom comes across young minds that grasp the issues of the day so clearly…

Grasping the issues of today is one thing, taking responsibility for doing something about those issues is another. Open Society lead by Annie Broadbent and Maxim Lester is something even further, it is a society of young people who are determined to support each other, practically and emotionally. I take my hat off to these young people. If they were not working so hard for the sake of themselves and others they may have time one day to realise just what beautiful young people they really are. I ask us the older generation to give these powerful young people all the help they need.”
